In the Spring of 2009, the IU VPF located to a new vector production facility built, in part, with a construction grant provided by the National Center for Research Resources,NIH. The facility provides a cGMP cleanroom with four production suites. The facility focuses on the production of integrating viruses, with an emphasis on lentiviral gene transfer.
In addition, the IU VPF offers a wide variety of routine and specialized assays important in certification and safety assessment of gene therapy vectors. A list of services can be viewed by clicking here.
To date, the IU VPF has certified over 30 vector for clinical trial throughout the United States.
